Battery Point Lighthouse

Battery Point Lighthouse is considered by many to be the finest and most beautiful of all of the California & Oregon Lighthouses. It's actually on an island during high tide and sits just outside Crescent City, California. This particular lighthouse has just captured my imagination and my heart, as it sits about 20 miles from where by in-laws homesteaded and lived for many, many years. They lived 20 miles away from the nearest telephone and nearest electricity. They literally lived off the land. And my father-in-law lived until 2001 when he died at age 104. What an amazing legacy ... and what a lovely part of the country. Enjoy!
